ReSAKSS-Africa (Regional Strategic Analysis and Knowledge Support System) website is now ready with enhanced features to track progress in implementing the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP), including the target of allocating 10 percent of national budgets to agriculture. The website serves as a “one-stop shop” for policymakers, researchers, farmer organization representatives, donor and development agencies, and the private sector who want access to high-quality analysis and knowledge products in order to track progress, document success, and share lessons learned about agricultural and rural development policies and programs in Africa.

Among the website’s new features are regional profiles of the five geographic regions of the African Union (central, eastern, northern, southern, and western); four economic groups based on production potential, nonagricultural alternative sources of growth and income level; and the eight Regional Economic Communities (RECs).

The website’s flagship data visualization tool also has been upgraded, providing users with three new ways to access and work with data on more than thirty agricultural development indicators:

  • Aggregated data at the regional and continental level– Users can now browse information by the five geographic subregions, eight Regional Economic Communities (RECs), four economic groups, and Africa as a whole.
  • Crosscountry/time comparisons– Users are able to select a specific country and compare its performance over time to that of the greater region or other countries; users can also view each country’s progress toward the CAADP targets across years.
  • Data/visual downloads– Users can download maps, charts, and data.

ReSAKSS-Africa is facilitated by IFPRI in partnership with three Africa-based CGIAR centers: International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA)International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), and International Water Management Institute (IWMI).
